Etched

This is a new art medium for me! Tonight at our Elgin Art Association meeting, Danica showed us how to do etching on mirrors. After applying contact paper over the mirror, smoothing out all the bubbles, we copied a picture onto the paper and cut out the etched portion with an exacto knife. After all the etched areas were exposed, we applied the etching cream with a brush and let it sit for 15 minutes. Washed off the etching cream and VIOLA! Our art is etched onto the glass.
